Men Shed from Daily Examiner - Work Shed Climate Right AirWhen you look at your shed, do you ever think of it as a space that could make a difference? For a bunch of guys in England, one work shed gives them some great community.

It۪s the U3A or University of the Third Age Men۪s Shed, and it provides a woodworking shop for members in the area.

U3A is an organization created to provide educational, creative, and leisure opportunities for retired members of the community, and their Men۪s Shed is set up to allow for community and creativity in a one-stop workshop. They occasionally open the shed to visitors who can explore their space and learn more about the organization and its interest groups.

    David Abraham۪'s Story

David Abraham is a U3A member who got involved with the organization nine years ago. It provided exactly what he was looking for, so since he began, he has moved all of his tools into the Men۪'s Shed and become treasurer of the organization.

He said of the shed: It keeps me off the streets and keeps my mind active. There۪'s great companionship.

The University of Alabama recently tested a prototype, closed-loop electronic fuel injection system piece for portable generators that reduces carbon monoxide emissions significantly, as much as 90% or more when compared to traditional generators.

These types of generators are often used for traveling in RVs or RV trailers, camping, after an emergency or significant storm, or anytime the power is out for an extended period of time.

Do You Have to Buy a New Generator?

If you۪'ve been safely using your generator, you might wonder if you۪'ll have to buy a new one, but irf this makes it to retail as tested, you won۪t! According to the study, portable generators were retrofitted with the new component and outperformed their unmodified counterparts in terms of emissions, a promising result for the creators and generator owners alike!

When is a work shed more than just a shed? When it becomes a little piece of home in the yard, as in the case of horticulture writer Rebecca Sweet. The old work shed in her backyard was nothing more than a storage shed until she and her husband decided to turn it into her office.

There's a lot of thought that goes into remodeling a work shed: interior, exterior, design, heating and air. For a lot of homeowners, though, it's definitely worth it!

The Sweets' work shed, passed down from Rebecca's childhood after she bought her mom's house, already came with character. Years of family and little touches had given it life, like her brother's name carved into the side and the step she walked up as a child, and it was important to her to preserve these memories.
