ClimateRight Maintenance Information

Proper maintenance of your ClimateRight portable air conditioning and heating unit is important to maintain a valid warranty and ensure your unit operates properly and lasts for years to come. Please refer to the Climate Right Operating Manual section for all startup, operating and specification information. Climate Right offers a Standard One (1) Year Warranty (Click here for full warranty) with all units sold.
 
The following regular maintenances are required during Year 1 in order to maintain the Standard Warranty:
 

FILTERS

Clean filter frequently – as needed. Depending on your application, this may be as frequently as weekly. Usually, monthly cleaning, and 6 month filter replacement is acceptable. (Note: Failure to use a filter voids Warranty).
 

HOSES

Make sure your hoses have no severe wear in order to maintain air flow and efficiency. In addition, hoses we provide are standard maximum length (4 feet) for proper operation.Extending or bending the hoses in different directions will impede airflow which will result in the compressor freezing and possible unit failure. Use as recommended or Warranty is voided.
 

CLEANING

Spray exterior of coil with a light stream of water at an angle towards coil. Do not spray a heavy stream or water directly into coil as there are mechanical and electrical components inside. A light coil rinsing should be done every 30 days when filter is changed. For optimum performance, use an aerosol can of no rinse coil cleaner. However, when using commercial cleaning products please consult a qualified HVAC technician. Commercial grade cleaners and aerosols can be harmful or fatal if mishandled.
 
After Year 1, Climate Right recommends you continue to follow the same maintenance program.
 

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you are having trouble with a previously purchased unit, or are having problems setting up your unit, you have the following two options:
  1. Consult the Operating Manual Troubleshooting section. Most normal issues are covered there.  
  2. EP Error Code (only affects 2013 CR-5000 and CR-8000 models): These units has a safety mechanism that is intended to shut the compressor off before the evaporator coil freezes. This usually happens if the ambient temperature is too low or there is an obstruction of air flow.
  3. If, after consulting the Operating Manual, your issue is still unresolved, fill out the following form which will be sent to our Troubleshooting Department for follow up.
